Found it! thanks, didnt notice the overflow of the information first, the 
dialog was big. Do you happen to know if you can have on the fly hillshade 
effect?

Hi Antonio,  In my 1.9.0-19 build, double click on the raster, then go to the 
"style" tab. At the very bottom there's a "resampling" section which lets you 
choose which algorithm to use, when to use it (zoomed in/out) and an 
"oversampling" thing (not sure what that does).

Actually looks better than the ArcGIS version.Regards,Jonathan

Yes, that's implemented in the current developer version which will be released 
as QGIS 2.0 in June.
