I downloaded the following from Kyngchaos (http://www.kyngchaos.com/software/qgis) and installed them on a Mac OS X 10.7.5 in this order, and QGIS with GRASS seems to work fine:
1. Install GDAL 1.11 Complete 2. Install NumPy (included in the GDAL download, per the GDAL Readme) 3. Install Matplotlib Python 1.3.1-2 4. Install QGIS 2.6.1-2 I do not know about GSL and did not install it separately. The note for GDAL 1.11 Complete at http://www.kyngchaos.com/software/frameworks#gsl also says GDAL plugins and other extras are not included. I am guessing at least some of these plugins and extras are listed below on that same page, like MrSID. Note that GRASS is listed as a plugin, but the QGIS installation now includes GRASS. I found this page confusing as to what exactly is needed and not needed for installing QGIS 2.6.1-2.
