Hi Tom,

I remember there used to be a problem with large prints in Win32, see e.g. [1]

The graphic is 656 MB (16200 x 13500 @ 300 dots per inch) and would
measure 1372 x 1143 mm. It is a wall map. Composer warns it may cause
memory overflow and when I proceed it says to either change paper size
or resolution and no file is generated. I have checked available memory
and it is 1.82 GB before attempting the export. Windows 7-32 is limited
to 3.5 GB physical RAM so I tried increasing virtual RAM to 12 GB. That
had no effect. Also tried to output as PDF, which gave no warnings and
produced an empty file. Is there some way to instruct QGIS to use the
virtual RAM? Or is there a way to have the output file made in bands
like Post Script does?
Thanks
