Hello!

There is also this fine plugin called "Quick Export" (The description: "Quick Export adds a new toolbar in QGIS, with 4 actions to export any vector layer to CSV, HTML, PDF and printer") which helps quite a lot with questions like this - even if it not does exactly what you want.

Another Plugin which might help is "XYTools" ("Tools for managing tabular data with x y columns. It can open spreadsheet files (Libre/OpenOffice, Excel) as point layers and save attribute tables as Excel file") - This one does what you want, as far as I can see.

HTH,
kind regards,
Albin

Unfortunately in newer versions of Excel (maybe Version > Office 2010?) you
can't open DBF-Files anymore... Use CSV or do not use Excel.

Dear Matthias,

in the popup manu of the layer (right click on the layer name in Layers
list) select Save as, select Coma separated value (CSV) or DBF file for the
format. Both CSV and DBF can be opened by Excel (or Libre Office Calc).

Regards,
Zoltan
