Hello, I just compiled QGIS 2.8.4 from the source on Fedora 18. I had no problems with the compilation I installed it in my local directory (not as root). I included the directories such as lib, bin, man in the environment variables.
I manage to start QGIS but there is an error: Couldn't load PyQGIS. Python support will be disabled. Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in File "/homel/lmolina/local/qgis-2.8.4/share/qgis/python/qgis/gui/__init__.py", line 1, in from qgis._gui import * ImportError: No module named Qsci Python version: 2.7.3 (default, Aug 9 2012, 17:23:57) [GCC 4.7.1 20120720 (Red Hat 4.7.1-5)] QGIS version: 2.8.4-Wien 'Wien', exported Python path: ['/homel/lmolina/local/qgis-2.8.4/share/qgis/python', u'/homel/lmolina/.qgis2/python', u'/homel/lmolina/.qgis2/python/plugins', '/homel/lmolina/local/qgis-2.8.4/share/qgis/python/plugins', '/home/users/lmolina/Tools', '/home/users/lmolina/Tools/MATPLOTLIB_TOOLS', '/homel/lmolina/local/qgis-2.8.4/share/qgis/python', '/usr/lib64/python27.zip', '/usr/lib64/python2.7', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/plat-linux2', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/lib-tk', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/lib-old', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/lib-dynload', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/PIL' '/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/geos', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/gst-0.10', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/gtk-2.0', '/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/wx-2.8-gtk2-unicode', '/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages', '/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/setuptools-0.6c11-py2.7.egg-info'] Then QGIS starts but without Python. Could somebody give me a clue on what I'm missing? Thank you, Luis
