All, Just a quick follow up on this. The kinks with the updated OSGeo4W packages was swiftly ironed out and updating everything to the latest version fixed my problem. Hopefully this is fixed for good.
Thanks to Jürgen for quickly updating the packages that had problems. /Kristian On 15 Oct 2018, at 12:51, Kristian Evers <kr...@sdfe.dk<mailto:kr...@sdfe.dk>> wrote: Jorge, > Check the settings at: Settings → Options → Network > These are the settings used for http access. > Have you any proxy on your network for http access? No proxy here. The same settings work on several tens of other computers in the building. Luigi, Thanks for sharing your experiences. I had a hunch something like that was to blame. I am hoping that Jürgens recent updates to the whole OSGeo4W stack will sort this issue out. But first there’s a few kinks with those updates that needs sorting out. /Kristian Fra: Luigi Pirelli <lui...@gmail.com<mailto:lui...@gmail.com>> Sendt: 15. oktober 2018 12:16 Til: Kristian Evers <kr...@sdfe.dk<mailto:kr...@sdfe.dk>> Cc: qgis-user ML <qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org<mailto:qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org>> Emne: Re: [Qgis-user] Network access is disabled I faced this problem with a strudent... my investigation revealed that there were a esoteric combination among win service pack, qt version and compiler version that give this effect. My only suggestion is to update your OS and/or lates qgis version (with updated qt) and see if something change. I should say that it is a kind of problem that are almost impossible to solve, btw I hope someone have more hints. IIRC the problem was reated with qt component that listen about the wifi signal availabaility (ther are qt tiket open about this)... I asked to the student to (in order) 1) try with ethernet 2) update OS with laster service pack 3) use master I dind't have any feedback from that student :( cheers Luigi Pirelli ************************************************************************************************** * LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/luigipirelli * Stackexchange: http://gis.stackexchange.com/users/19667/luigi-pirelli * GitHub: https://github.com/luipir * Mastering QGIS 2nd Edition: * https://www.packtpub.com/big-data-and-business-intelligence/mastering-qgis-second-edition * Hire me: http://goo.gl/BYRQKg ************************************************************************************************** On Mon, 15 Oct 2018 at 11:49, Kristian Evers <kr...@sdfe.dk<mailto:kr...@sdfe.dk>> wrote: Hi, I am having some issues adding WMS layers. QGIS fails to retrieve the capabilities file and adds “Network access is disabled” to the log. This is with QGIS 3.2.3 on Win10. Googling a bit I see that a few others have experienced this in the past, although with earlier versions of QGIS3. As far as I can see there isn’t any obvious ways where network access can be disabled within QGIS. Outside QGIS there are no problems accessing the network. QGIS doesn’t have problems reading files from network drives either, so this seems to be purely related to HTTP-access. Is this a known issue? If so, is there a workaround?
