I just released a new version of the QGIS Shape Tools plugin with an updated Geodesic Transformation tool. It now supports data defined override parameters which can lead to some powerful and creative ways to use the tool. Here is an example. In this image it provides some randomness in scaling down the size of each polygon as well as some rotation
