You can try to drag and drop the file inside QGIS. If it's a proper GeoJSON(a JSON file specifically encoding geographic data), the geometries should show up in the map window.
Also, you might want to change your password on lists.osgeo.org. It was displayed in the email you sent and the list is read by quite a lot of people.
