I am currently using QGIS 3.16.16. My data are typically represented by contours and they
are in metres. I always use the coordinate system EPSG 26917 for my work. However,
whenever I export the contours using the "Save Feature As" function on QGIS to
an AutoCAD DXF file. The default DXF file is in feet and I have to manually change the
units on AutoCAD to metric.

Hi Gordon,
it is a known issue: please see [1] and [2] for reference and workaround.

Best regards.
