you are right, I could reproduce the bug meanwhile.
It seems to depend on what is done before running the script.
In fact the issue is not specific to the 'path' property,
it is related to the access to a Document object (Qizx-specific)
from a Node of the data model, as your 2nd snapshot shows
( using <doc href="{xlib:document($doc)}" /> )
Apparently it could be a fairly gross regression introduced
by an optimization in 4.2, but it is completely puzzling that
it has gone undetected so far.
I will get back at you when it will be more clear to me.
