Richard ,
I have now 3 of 4 ser ports used :
- Com1 for sernet
- com2 for modem
- com4 for mouse
and everything is ok under smsq/e .
I do not have the necessary devices to test the 4 port
at the same time (i'll try soon linking in sernet also
my qpc laptop) , for the moment i made some test
moving the mouse from com3 to com4 and it work.
Coming back to linux : the mouse on com4 (idem for
com3) doesn't work .
I'll try to explain better : the mouse on com3 work
very badly and the mouse pointer moves in jerks and
very rarely exactly like when there is an irq
conflict. (IRQ_Sharing).
I had a look in procs/interrupt and everything seems
ok and during linux boot the 4 port are recognized.

Not only but i just added to q40 a wireless (TRUST)
keyboard and mouse, the keyboard works without problem
both with smsqe and linux, the mouse obviously does
not work expecting it the "ps2" mouse protocol .
This is valid for smsqe where i think only serial
protocol is implemented but should not be true for
linux where is possible to switch to "ps2" protocol.
Mouse is attached to the q40 with a serial to ps mouse
adapter.
I try some tests without success, what do you think
about ? How can i switch in linux to ps2 protocol ?
Any hope to implement mouse ps protocol in smsqe ?

Red_hat 7.2 for m68k is a big news , let me know where
i can download it.

Ciao
Fabrizio
