Because it's the only source of good chips that I have in order to test a
SGC :-)
The QXL2 uses slightly faster chips than the SGC (about 10 ns or so) but
it's basically the same kind
Would this (or other RAM) make the SGC faster?

Unlikely :-) It may increase stability of the system and maybe run a little cooler but that's about it.
