  _psa and _pic  files have only one mode, rather like a sprite. But  
sprites of other modes can be linked together, each sprite having a  
specific item for this purpose. Although it is not defined in the  
QPTR manual, it would be possible (and useful) to link together _psa,  
but not  _pic, files of different modes using the first long word.
