What is the advantage of this Transfer (giving an abt file) over just
using the normal aba file? On my test Transfer seems to need Psion
option not dif(which only carries over figures)

Xchange for PC and QL both have the Transfer command (F3/Files), for
moving data between Abacus's on different machines.
This process can keep formula & data intact, unlike export.
The help pages don't mention the "other" system but it should be worth
a try.
If Psion 4 doesn't have this option, an upgrade to Xchange may be needed.
I believe it's on your pages somewhere.
