The attraction of Linux for many, Tony, is getting away from Windows; we
are just users and any command line actions have to be done meticulously
from instruction as we have no everyday need of it and so have no
familiarity with the syntax. Word processor, spreadsheet, pictures,
scanning, fax and internet are my simple main requirements; the QL lets
me do some simple Basic programing. I hope to get Ql emulated on my
awaited R-pi, but I must rely on all you experts to get it sorted for
me. (and much thanks to all those on to it).

Wow - really the *whole* point of using Linux is the sophistication of
the command line. Linux defaults to the command line and the GUI has
to be run as a program.
That is what I especially like about Macbook OS X. The command line
is a flavour of Linux.
