I get the * OK on my QL with Super Gold Card.
This reminds me of a test we used to do on early scientific calculators.
Key in a number, then something like sin, cos, tan and the inverses.
The answer would come the same for a range of inputs. This varied
according to the make/model of calculator. Quite a bit of industrial
time was wasted on this, I guess.
