Tony,

'out of office assistants' - for that is their name, usually only send one
'Jimmy Riddle is out of the office today' message to each sender. If it has
sent one today to you, it won't send you another (today). It will tomorrow.
One a day is ok.

Having said that, we had a consultant working for a large German Bank/Car
manufacturer in Munich last year. She had an account here at work and
another at the bank. She put here OOA on both - and an email bounced
backwards & forwards until both mail boxes filled up. We enjoyed that one !

I wonder how we avoid exponential emailing.

I thought _all_ emails sent to the list got sent back to the sender.
I would have thought then that we would get emails to the power of 2.
