Norman,

Converting the SMSQ/E assembler source to use the AS68 assembler is unlikely
to be practical.  It does not understand the concept of macros, and is not
very good at relocatable code!   It was designed specifically to be an
assembler that backends a compiler - not one that is used directly by an
assembler programmer.   The other tools in the C68 suite (MAKE, LD) will
work fine though.
