Colin Parsons makes some magical things to make me read
} Hi.
}
} Look up the model on the Internet, never failed me on dozens of drives.

Ok, I mean: from an SMSQ/E program ?
Otherwise, most drives now comes with a label which states the number of sectors...
There is also the 'seek and destroy' approach: "requesting big cylinder number...until
it fails..." (and sometimes destroy the drive too!)
