I have seen one that simulates formatting the hard disk -
format c:
This will erase all data on the fixed disk c:
Do you want to continue: Y

... and including pretty realistic hard disk activity.

Lau also wrote something similar for the QL - it is on my BBS somewhere.
It simulates an NT boot.  I will have a look.
