In the "C" world "_" is reserved for internal system variables.

Nope.  Posix defines that "All identifiers that begin with an underscore are always 
reserved for use as identifiers with file scope [...]".  Typically used for marking 
stuff as internal/transient/dummy.

Maybe you should tweak the widget flags a bit to make the help dialog stay on 
top.
