Dear users, I want to upload a map (downloaded from openmtbmap.org) to my Garmin Oregon device. The instructions on the qlandkarte wiki are quite clear and hopefully I will manage without problems.
My question is what happens during the upload to the maps that are already installed in the device? In particular, I have Oregon 450t where topographic maps covering the whole Europe are preloaded. In addition, the device is equipped with a microSD with TOPO Austria maps. I would guess that what ever is on the device installed should be not harmed upon upload of an additional map (provided that there is enough space) but just want to double check this. An additional question: are the uploaded maps being installed directly in the memory of the device or can they be stored on a microSD card (presumably different from that with TOPO Austria)? Can anyone share his/her experience on this topic with me?
