Something for the wishlist:

I use my garmin to make OSM-ways.
When I start a survey - mostly in the mountains or in some forest - I guess
what type of items might occur and what kind of notetaking I should choose.
Mostly, all device do their job quite well, but sometimes I'm lost, losing my
means of taking notes.

It would be helpful in such situations to have an easy access to a customized
set of icons specially created for the route to be surveyed, just to make it
easyer to take sort of note-symbols combinations without big effort. (i.e.:
broken fingers)

So I'd like to have a specific icon set for each kind of survey which I can
re-translate to the default icon names in the .gpx to make the track
interchangeable.
Unix, sed and awk are my friends.

Changing the whole icon set is complicated and error-prone, so standardizing
this task is difficult to manage.

I would like to have sort of an icon-set palette to change with some clicks.
And it would be nice to be able to access icons or icon sets by an url, so I
can share my work over the net.

I am just new, exploring the capabilities of this program. I say: awkward!
:-))
