Hello Oliver

Thanks for the answer, it is just this. Qlgt assummes that all points in
the IMG file are "Points Of Interest", so the value of their label is shown
as text. This way is ok for named POIs like summits, buildings, singular
places... But there is another kind of points (garmin types 6300 and 6200)
used to indicate the elevation of certain points: a summit without name,
the bottom of a depresion, a pass,...They are complementary to the
landcontour lines, and they give a very useful information.

In a .IMG file this elevation is written in feet (with no decimal places,
and with any suffix) in the label of this kind of points and land-contour
lines. So when you choose " imperial" in "setup - units", qlgt only have to
append the suffix "ft" to the label.

When you choose "metric" is expected to make the conversion from feet to
meters and append the suffix "m". This is well done for the labels of
contour-lines, but not for the labels of elevation points that are shown as
they are. So qlgt draws a confusing map with contour lines in meters and
elevation points
in feet.

Yes , this is difficult to see if you dont have a map with this kind of
points, so I have extracted a little area of a map with this kind of
points, and I will send it to you by email. If you have a bit of time you
can make a test.

I have no idea about modifying the code, but I think this problem can be
fixed if qlgt makes for the labels of elevation points (garmin type 6300
and 6200) the same conversion that it makes for the land-contour lines
(garmin type 20, 21, and 22)

The gps units handle this kind of points and land-contour lines in this way
also. They make the conversion deppending on the units setup, and then the
label is shown with the suffix "ft" or "m".

thanks for your time
