Hi Everyone,
This is my first post to the list, having recently discovered qlandkartegt
will run under Linux (Ubuntu)!!!!
I've googled a bunch, but didn't find the answer online.
I am running Xubuntu 12.04, with a bunch of ram. I have a late model
motherboard (ASUS) homebrewed system and an FX-6100 processor. I did manage
to import maps. But, just can't connect to my Garmin 60Csx through the usb
port (using factory supplied cable). It appears that the computer sees the
Garmin (lsusb command indicates a garmin connection).
But, any attempt to download files from the gps results in the error:
Failed to download waypoints. Failed to configure USB could not set config
1: Operation not permitted
The unit doesn't appear as a usb memory module either-there is no entry for
a Garmin usb drive anywhere.
lsusb command gives me:
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 091e:0003 Garmin International GPS (various models)
dmesg command gives me:
[14147.532068] usb 5-1: new full-speed USB device number 2 using ohci_hcd
I did create the 51-garmin.rules file, it has a single line:
SYSFS{idVendor}=="091e", SYSFS{idProduct}=="0003", MODE="666"
I'm using the online guide at:

Sure would appreciate a nudge in the right direction, I'm stumped.
TIA
