Thanks. 1) works. 2) Was what I had tried before but doesn't work on my platform (Fedora/XFCE). The waypoints are highlighted, but the boxes aren't checked. 3) Doesn't work either, similar to 2) The waypoints are highlighted, but the box doesn't have the check mark.
I'll just have to use the peculiar way. Just to make sure I tried the typical C-a and shift select in a file browser and it works there, but there isn't a check box.
