Sorry - for the disturbance. The user is using such an antique system - that i couldn't imagine it... (also because I write in several places not to use qlandkarte GT 1.0 or older and best use current version).
Debian Squeeze QLandkarte GT 0.18.5 I told him to self compile... but good to know it's working also on linux I put it on the list because for some Garmin GPS (e.g. edge 1000 or gpsmaps 64 series - unicode maps don't get authenticated if they are from mkgmap - while old gps support no unicode. Hence I first thought okay - qlandkarte gt maybe has some structural problems too on some systems being unicode in mkgmap maps a very recent feature).
