It's not more sensitive than anything else. Each tick of a mouse wheel
event will switch one zoom level.

But QMS uses it's own internal logarithmic scale. This is not the one
used in TMS maps. Therefore the "feel" when zooming is a bit different.
To stick to an internal common scale is mandatory if you display maps of
various sources next to each other.

The queue of tiles to be requested is cleared with each draw event. Thus
switching zoom level or moving the map will clear the queue and fill it
with the tiles needed for the actual viewport.
