Concerning "How can I check, if I use the actual source, is there something 
like a source ident number ? QMS shows the version 1.6.0.pre. now."

I recommend to use TortoiseHg to handle all the repository stuff. This will 
show you a graph of all revisions. And handle all hg commands via GUI.
