Then perhaps the source "tar" ball  should already contain  the "*.html"
files rather than the "*.md" files.

There is absolutely no need for anyone to create "*.html" files from the
"*.md" files.   But if someone WANTS to do it, there's no way but to use
some conversion utility.   And since Bitbucket  uses the Python Markdown
module, this is the only choice which guarantees compatibility.

By the way:  I've just uploaded to the wiki repository  a fix which pre-
vents my scripts from adding  an ".html" extension  to local URLs in the
"*.md" source files.   These ".html" extensions are now only appended in
the created "*.html" files.

Please test again.
