And since Bitbucket uses the Python Markdown module, this is the only choice which guarantees compatibility. By the way: I've just uploaded to the wiki repository a fix which pre- vents my scripts from adding an ".html" extension to local URLs in the "*.md" source files. These ".html" extensions are now only appended in the created "*.html" files. Please test again.
