If you want to do versioning use a revision control system. Renaming files ends up in a hopeless mess. It does not document the changes. And if you are lucky you overwrite your own work by accident. I know, many users do it that way, but that doesn't qualify it as a good solution to be recommended. For document style content and single user a small Subversion server is a fantastic tool. There are many tutorials and products to setup one easily. But if you are really concerned about the safety of your data, you have a small NAS drive for backup anyway. And these come with a SVN server usually. If privacy is of no concern use a cloud service that offers revision control. e.g. Bitbucket. > > ------------ > > regarding the "current.view" I found. There is no problem in accessing the device with a file browser while QMapShack is running. In fact I do this quite often when developing on that part. Just keep in mind that the mount/unmount only works on Linux. On Windows you have to eject the device.
