Hi Wolfgang
Wolfang your tests are really appreciated because I am very limited for
testing in windows , I have to run win 10 in a VM within my linux mint with
only 4gb ram for all.
Now I have been testing with a QMS windows version "as it come" with
Helmut's installer and I can reproduce the same error.
So I have checked some things arround this:
* Gdal driver for WMS - WMTS -WCS does not come by default and it needs
libcurl -> http://www.gdal.org/formats_list.html
<http://www.gdal.org/formats_list.html>
*In linux I have curl support. In my windows QMS folder tunned with
plugins there is a libcurl.dll , this came when (in order to add mbtiles
support) I added and over-wrote some files the with the gisinternals
gdal-core installer (only the gdal-core, no ecw or mrsid plugins).
* In my windows QMS-original folder , (that is the version "as it come
with the installer") there is no libcurl.dll. and running *gdalinfo
--formats* neither WCS nor WMS appear
* In the past it was discussed about ssl support and the reasons to not
include with the windows installer. I am not sure if that involves curl
too. (?)
* In the same discussion (*"About WMTS and France_Topo25.xml") *Oliver
pointed that in QMS "the map objects for TMS and WMTS do not use GDAL at
all. They use QtNetwork" ( so don`t need libcurl I suposse), but also added
" curl comes in quite handy if you want to load WMS maps via GDAL."
* I assumed that in the same way QMS can get TMS and WMTS it could get
WCS .... WRONG :-(
* On the other hand i didn't realized that I was testing in windows with a
QMS version that have libcurl, but other windows versions (as yours) may be
do not have. (Novice's failure) :-(
* So It seems that libcurl is required to acces WCS . In windows a
workaround to add it could be the same pointed for adding support for
mbtiles with the gisinternals gdal-core installers , but it will be
others...
Hope it helps
