Hi,

I think you can take any distribution. The key is to update on a regular base. There is no point in using a release from 2016 in 2018 except being too lazy to install Linux. But  installing Linux is easy compared to Windows. All your private data is on it's own partition. All your configurations, too. Usually it takes ~1h to restore your system completely. And if you miss a package it's really easy to install.

Personally I use SuSE since 1997. Every single relase. Sure sometimes you get more trouble by that than anything solved. But most of the time you get more recent versions of software with  issues solved.

Betreff: [Qlandkartegt-users] What is your favorite development distro?
Hello QMS developers,

currently I am developing under Ubuntu 16.04. So far I am quit happy - all works fine.

I am using Qt Creator for coding and TortoiseHg for code management with Bitbucket. No problem at all. A simple and good combination.

It seems that I have to update to Ubuntu 18.04 to be able to code with QtWebEngine.

But I am not married with Ubuntu, so simple question:

What kind of Linux distro are you using for coding with QMS?

Any suggestions and recommendations are welcomed.

Thanks.
