Hi,

to add a new database or an existing always starts with a right click into the 
database view and "Add Database". Next you have these 2 tool buttons:

The one with the "+" will add a completely new database. Usually the file 
dialog is used to define a new file. If you select an existing file it will be 
overwritten and it's content will be destroyed.

The blues folder is used to add an existing database file. You select one and 
it's path is displayed.

For both cases you have to add a name for the database to enable the ok 
button.


If there is any other behavior I need more information like the OS and the 
version of QMapShack.
