For example OruxMaps is able to display Garmin img maps.
And the basic Mapnik OpenStreetMap map can be displayed by QMapShack and
by almost any Android app.

My garmin died so I'm going to make the switch to android for my
portable nav. I'm hoping to have the same map on my desktop as on my
android device and I don't think there is anything as good as
qmapshack for the desktop, so I'm trying to find an android app which
uses a format that qmapshack uses.
Suggestions?
