I often have the same problem with my GPS device. A lot of recorded tracks have
2 or 3 erroneous height data at the
beginning. The bad track points are easy to identify because the difference in
height is significant.
I use my standard text editor (jedit) to remove the respective points (text between and inclusive
the "<trkpt" and "
</trkpt> key words).
May be it is not a recommendable method for all editors but for me its very
fast and works without modifying the rest.

Betreff: [Qlandkartegt-users] deleting track points, lose all time data
I have a gpx track, and the first 2 points are 10 km from the next point
so I'd like to delete them, but when I do, I lose the time data for the
rest of the gpx track? Why? Is there a way to do this? I'm using
'edit track points', 'delete a point'.
thx
