Hi Oliver,

Thanks for your quick reply and sorry for asking in German. I should have known...

Actually, "Agent Smith" had already caught my eye and made me wonder, but I didn't want to mess away with it. And, I could see the missing tiles count down, therefore assumed, they where beeing received but not displayed. Anyway, OSM seems to be on better terms with "Johnny Walker" and "Jim Beam", hence for now the latter is it, to request the tiles for me.

BTW: My recent experience is quite similar to what Ivo Reano describes. Quite often fetching few tiles only lagged and left me wait for even the initialĀ  viewport to fill. That would have been using another user agent though, but already zoomed in on typical road bike or running tracks (Golden Cheetah). Didn't use QMS for a couple of weeks.

Cheers

Felix

OSM project requires the "User-Agent" to be set in the HTTP header for each request. They use that information to analyze the web traffic by applications. One goal is to detect leeching of tiles as this is expensive. It looks like the OSM project put a ban on the "User-Agent" string used by the *tms files.
