Subject: RE: qmail-ldap not working
I'm sorry. Thought I've sent it earlier.
Here's my user entry (I'm sorry it's a bit rough coz I'm still
testing out
the system)
uid=test5, dc=battusai, dc=25by8
objectclass=top
objectclass=person
objectclass=qmailUser
objectclass=mailRecipient
cn=Test5 test
sn=Test5
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
uid=test5
userpassword=test5
mailmessagestore=/var/qmail/maildirs/test5
No need.
mailhost=localhost
accountstatus=active
deliverymode=normal
maildir=/var/qmail/maildirs/test5
No need.
homedirectory=/home/test5
I've set these controls
ldapbasedn : dc=battusai,dc=25by8
ldaplogin : cn=Manager,dc=battusai,dc=25by8
ldapuid : 501 (id number of system user patrick)
quotawarning: Mail quota exceeded.
concurrencyincoming : 20
ldapcluster : 0
ldapmessagestore : /var/qmail/maildirs
No need.
locals : battusai.25by8
defaultdelivery : ./Maildir/
ldapdefaultquota : 30000000S, 10000C
ldappassword : secret
maxrcptcount : 0???
rcpthosts : battusai.25by8
defaultdomain : battusai.25by8
ldapgid : 501 (patrick group)
ldapuid: nnn
Since you do not plan to specify per user ldapuid/ldapgid, make sure
default ldapuid is specified.
ldapserver : localhost
me : battusai.25by8
relaymailfrom :
dirmaker : #!/bin/sh
mkdir -m 700 -p $1
ldaplocaldelivery : 1
ldaptimeout : 30
plusdomain : battusai.25by8
tarpitcount : 25
tarpitdelay : 0 ???
TY!

What is the user entry you added to LDAP and what are your
defined
/var/qmail/control files.

Thanks!
I had this error when I ran
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-ldaplookup
-u uid..
WARNING qmailUID is out of range
(100...65535)
WARNING qmailGID is out of range
(100...65535)
What entry should I be putting into the control?
COuld this
be any
system
user?

* Add LDAP user entries and home directories
for
testing
* Add LDAP related control files
* make sure the LDAP server is up and running
* run /var/qmail/bin/qmail-ldaplookup -u uid
to verify
LDAP
entries
Sample qmail control files:
ldapbasedn
ou=people, o=domain.com
ldapcluster
0
ldapdefaultdotmode
both
ldapdefaultquota
20000000S,1000C
ldaplocaldelivery
0
ldaplogin
cn=Directory Manager
ldappassword
password
ldaprebind
1
ldapserver
10.0.1.27
The LDAP related control files should match the LDAP
information in
your
slapd.conf. e.g. ldapbasedn, ldapserver,
ldappassword

Subject: qmail-ldap not working
Hi all,
I have set everything up including controls
and
stuff. But
still my
recipients are not receiving their email.
What
controls or
ldap
attributes
should I be checking to make sure that mail
is
delivered
properly?
How do I
access the logs?
I have already set my recipients and
maildirs based
on
openldap-1.2
and I
access my mail using courier-imap.
BTW I have installed Qmail previously which
was
working fine
with
courier-imap.
Thanks in advanced!
