hi,
i have installed qmail-ldap with clustering enabled. i've setup
a 2-host cluster according to the manual, life with qmail-ldap.
now my problem is, auth_imap and auth_pop can't authenticate the
users. i tried telnetting to port 143 and 110 on both servers
and this is what i have observed: if the mailHost of the user is
equal to the server i'm tenetting to, the authentication
succeeds, but if the mailHost of the user is not the server im
telnetting to, it fails. imap seems to be silent, it disconnects
if the authentication failed without saying anything. however,
pop displays "mailHost unreachable" if the authentication fails.
i dont have any problems concerning mail delivery. qmqpd works
fine. it's just the authentication that fails.
here is my setup:
- i have only one ldap server that does the authentication.
- my rcpthosts and locals on BOTH cluster hosts contain the two
FQDNs of my cluster hosts.
any idea?
