I think this may be a feature request, but possibly I can be convinced to do
things differently.
I'd like to be able to specify two basedns in /var/qmail/control/ldapbasedn.
The reason I'd like this is because I have qmailusers in both
ou=people,dc=deepeddy,dc=com and ou=groups,dc=deepeddy,dc=com, the former
containing real users and the latter containing mailinglists.
Each of these domains happens to also have a reference to another database to
catch administrative users or groups who are common to all our servers.
I had my basedn pointing at dc=deepeddy,dc=com under openldap 1.2.11 and a
reference at that level to the other database, but under openldap 2.0.7,
it stopped working to have the reference at that level, so I changed to
multiple references at a lower level. If I keep the basedn at the higher
level, it grabs all the references under all the branches besides ou=people
and ou=groups and tries to follow them. This is far too many hits to the
database and seems to freeze things up (I guess it may be triggering a bug).
I've thought of creating another tree ou=email,dc=deepeddy,dc=com which simply
contains references to ou=people,dc=deepeddy,dc=com and
ou=groups,dc=deepeddy,dc=com, but I haven't tried it yet.
