This seems to be a resolver (DNS) problem. Try to use 
tcpserver -RHlyourmachinehostname (see also man tcpserver).

The best thing with patches is to put them in a public place (http or ftp)
and post the link to the list. I and also some other listreaders do not
like to get big mails with attachments.
