How can I configure the 'qmail-smtpd-auth'??

I'm a beginner,and I use the TurboLinux's Powermail which configure qmail + vpopmail with LDAP automatically,but there's now a problem puzzle me, Powermail donnot configure the smtp-auth and how can I do it?
