dash-ext using a +?

I've got a bunch of customers who i need to move across from a sendmail
system onto my qmail-ldap system (currently 20010201 but will possibly
update).

Problem is, that the sendmail users are using + as the delimiter instead
of -.

Can anyone tell me if the dash-ext patch will supoprt + instead? or how
much of a mission it would be to alter it?
