Hello;
I have gotten qmail-LDAP (20011001a) to work great with openLDAP v2.0.15
but when I try to add the smtp_auth patch (20011001) I can not get
qmail-smtpd to authenticate and allow the reception of messages.
I am starting qmail-smtpd via tcpserver, ie:
PATH="/opt/ucspi-tcp/bin:/var/qmail/bin:$PATH"
export PATH
LOGLEVEL="3"
export LOGLEVEL
tcpserver -pR -c200 -u56001 -g601 -x/etc/tcpcontrol/smtp.cdb 0 smtp \
qmail-smtpd /var/qmail/bin/auth_smtp /bin/true 2>&1 | splogger smtpd 2 &
The system receives messages great, so I know all the control files are
setup correctly. And qmail-LDAP is interfacing to the LDAP server correctly.
But, when I try to sent using either Outlook 2000 or Netscape 6.1 I receive
the following syslog activity:
Oct 24 18:37:51 sandbox.corp.load.cc smtpd: [ID 748625 mail.info]
1003966671.640405 qmail-smtpd 348: connection from 192.168.184.103 (
kayak.corp.load.cc ) to sandbox.corp.load.cc
Oct 24 18:37:51 sandbox.corp.load.cc smtpd: [ID 748625 mail.info]
1003966671.643027 qmail-smtpd 348: remote ehlo = kayak
Oct 24 18:37:51 sandbox.corp.load.cc smtpd: [ID 748625 mail.info]
1003966671.643342 qmail-smtpd 348: max msg size = 0
Oct 24 18:37:53 sandbox.corp.load.cc smtpd: [ID 748625 mail.info]
1003966673.701371 qmail-smtpd 348: read error, connection closed
Do I have to setup something special on the clients to authenticate
properly or is there something wrong on the server side.. I just
filled in the proper uid from the LDAP database for the user and
the password from userPassword. Does this information need to be
in a different format or include some LDAP info. My userPassword(s)
are keep in MD5 format, could this be causing a problem. I am
just entering the plaintext equivalent of the password...
I am not sure what additional information anyone may need to help me.
Let me know.
Thanks.
