Hello;
I have an environment in which we administer email for 600+ domains.
In regular qmail this works easily.
In qmail-LDAP I setup openLDAP with a structure of:
dc=domain1.com,ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
dc=domain2.com,ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
...and so on...
Then for users I have:
cn=name,dc=domain1.com,ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
cn=someothername,dc=domain1.com,ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
cn=name,dc=domain2.com,ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
cn=someothername,dc=domain2.com,ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
...and so on...
so we can have a [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] be different
people but with the same cn designation but different dc designation
so that email gets to the correct person...
I am using the following objects:
dn: cn=tim,dc=Load.com,ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
accountStatus: active
cn: tim
mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailForwardingAddress: some-email-address
mailHost: some-system-name
objectClass: top
objectClass: person
objectClass: InetOrgPerson
objectClass: qmailuser
sn: tim
uid: system-wide-unique-id
userPassword:: mypassword
Now this working in a small single system test environment. But
when moved to production with separate LDAP and qmail-LDAP servers
this seems to break (and I cannot figure out why, but that is besides
the point)... BASEDN is of course: ou=clients,o=loadmail,c=us
All the control files seem to be inorder... but still the communication
between the qmail-LDAP systems and the LDAP servers seems to result
in a response of email address does not exist???
I guess my question is, has anyone tackled a type of multiple domain
situation before and what worked and what did not work??? I just need
some direction and some insight into the whole thing...
Thanks!
