In qmail-ldap crypt passwords start with {crypt} and not uppercase.
Probably we should make those checks caseless.
To set passwords you can use the "digest" tool included in qmail-ldap.
Also try to use a better algorithm then crypt (sha, md5 or rmd160).

Little note, if both homeDirectory and mailMessageStore have the same
value you do not need both or you can set mailMessageStore to "./".
