Yes, it is definitely looking for something. Run it with a debug of -1 to see everything. There will be so much there that it's easiest just to dump it to a text file: slapd -d -1 >_logfile_ 2>&1 It won't daemonize, so you just switch to another console, start qmail, stop qmail, then come back to this console and Ctrl-C it to get out. Then go dig through the log file. It grows pretty rapidly when you do debug -1 (all), but you get tons of information. The answer will probably lie in there. -- Blue skies...
