I connect to a iplanet server using the openldap libs, no probs here. Do a "ldd qmail-ldaplookup" and see if all libs are found. After adapting the ld.so.conf file, did you ran "/sbin/ldconfig" as well?

If so, what libraries did you use for the Qmail-LDAP Compilation? The OpenLDAP ones seem to be giving me fits... Specifically when I try and do an qmail-ldaplookup to check for connectivity to the LDAP server it reports: > > ./qmail-ldaplookup: error in loading shared libraries: libldap.so.2: cannot open > shared object file: No such file or directory > > I recompiled to make sure everything was pointed to the right place, and verified that the ldap libraries were in my shared library config file (ld.so.conf), and the file exists as a symlink to the appropriate file in the same directory. No funny stuff I can see...
