no, it's any user one the system. > > check permissions and structure of Maildir directory root@mail:/home/djk > ls -al /mail/accounts/dkelley/Maildir/ total 3 drwx------ 5 vmail vmail 120 Dec 21 13:55 . drwx------ 3 vmail vmail 72 Dec 21 13:55 .. drwx------ 2 vmail vmail 48 Dec 21 13:55 cur drwx------ 2 vmail vmail 48 Dec 21 13:55 new drwx------ 2 vmail vmail 48 Dec 22 10:25 tmp > if not and/or try these? > > mailmessagestore > where the user's mails should be stored. If you are starting qmail with > qmail-start ./Maildir/ > (this is common), this would expand to /realhome/brahe/Maildir/. yup, that's ok: mailmessagestore = /mail/accounts/dkelley, and i'm starting with qmail-start ./Maildir/ the truly bizarro this is this: i've been hacing on qmail-local for a while to see if i could find out which call fails. it's the open_excl() call that's used to open the tmp file in the maildir for the initial message write. the bizarro thing is that qmail-local gets the path to open right, except is thinks that the path has "_s" prepended to it. why, i have no idea. dan
