It's like, this ISP which provides free Internet access. Users sign up on a web page and can choose their own username (and thereby also email address). I need to make sure that some email addresses (like postmaster, hostmaster, webmaster and quite a few other) always end up the right place. If I add these addresses in /var/qmail/alias/*, a user simply have to register a user with postmaster, hostmaster or whatever (the name of a (temporary) internal "mailinglist" for instance) to receive their email. You get the idea.. :) Yes, I could add these users to the LDAP and forward them from there, that is probably the best solution after all (and that's what I do today), but I find it a lot faster to just edit the relevant file(s) in /var/qmail/alias/* when I need to do updates (which is quite often). > Otherwise modifying the source and recompiling is the only way, but you'll > find this not to be self-evident. :-D -- Vegard Svanberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [*Takapa@IRC (EFnet)]
